Xiaomi YU7: The Ultimate SUV Unveiled at the 2025 Greater Bay Area Auto Show

The Xiaomi YU7 made its official debut at the 2025 Greater Bay Area Auto Show on May 31, 2025. As the second model from Xiaomi's automotive division and the brand's first SUV, the YU7 has garnered significant attention. With its innovative design, luxurious interior, and advanced technology, the YU7 is poised to make a mark in the mid-large SUV segment.
The YU7 continues the family design language of the Xiaomi SU7 but takes it a step further with its SUV form. The front features a closed grille, a striking silver Xiaomi logo on the oversized clamshell hood, and triangular air vents on the front bumper with matching color trim, enhancing its sporty appeal. The vehicle comes in nine body colors, including Gem Green, Titanium Metal, Lava Orange, and Cambrian Grey.
The headlights of the YU7 are similar in shape to the SU7 but with innovative details. The upper part of the light assembly is hollow and connects to the air ducts and the hood. The LED daytime running lights form a cross shape, not only looking unique but also providing ultra-wide-angle illumination. This design offers better visibility during night driving and in complex road conditions.
The YU7 features a sporty fastback design on the side, with new semi-hidden electric door handles that reduce air resistance and enhance the overall aesthetic. The wheel arches, side window trim, and door edge decorations are covered in high-gloss black material. Multiple aerodynamic channels around the body help achieve an impressive drag coefficient of 0.245. The vehicle's dimensions are 4999/1996/1608 (1600) mm in length, width, and height, with a wheelbase of 3000 mm, positioning it as a mid-large luxury high-performance SUV.
The rear of the YU7 maintains a family-like design. The roof features a hollow spoiler, and the ducktail and rear diffuser enhance stability at high speeds and reinforce the sporty style. The rear bumper follows the design concept of the SU7, with a combination of high-gloss black and body-colored trim. The through-type symmetrical C-shaped taillights are eye-catching and larger than those of the SU7, offering a more exaggerated visual effect and high recognition when illuminated.
Inside, the YU7 features a wraparound cockpit layout. The dashboard retains the general style of the SU7, with an emphasis on material quality. It combines large areas of leather, wood grain panels, and Alcantara. The new three-spoke steering wheel has a flat-bottom design, with a prominent centering mark and a driving mode selection knob on the underside. The wheel also retains a roller structure on both sides.
The cockpit has eliminated the traditional instrument panel, replaced by Xiaomi's 1.1-meter Horizon Screen panoramic display system. This system uses three Mini-LED screens and panoramic curved projection technology to reflect information onto the lower black area of the windshield. It can clearly display various information such as battery range, gear position, speed, navigation, and music playback.
The large floating center console screen is powered by the third-generation Snapdragon 8 mobile platform chip, offering faster startup and smooth operation. The PongOS infotainment system can display three interfaces simultaneously, integrating rich multimedia entertainment and vehicle control functions. It also allows seamless transfer of mobile applications to the car screen and connects with Xiaomi's smart home ecosystem. The system supports UWB ultra-wideband connectivity for keyless entry and automatic locking/unlocking.
In terms of assisted driving, the YU7 comes standard with the NVIDIA Thor automotive computing platform, boasting a 700TOPS computing performance. It is equipped with one LiDAR, one 4D millimeter-wave radar, 11 high-definition cameras, and 12 ultrasonic sensors, all integrated with Xiaomi's HAD assisted driving system for end-to-end assisted driving.
The seating arrangement includes dual zero-gravity seats in the front with a one-touch reclining function and a 10-point massage feature. The rear seats offer electric stepless adjustment with a maximum reclining angle of 135 degrees, enhancing passenger comfort. Additional features include a wireless phone charger, a 6.68-inch mobile control screen, and a built-in refrigerator.
Power options include a single-motor version with rear-wheel drive, offering a maximum power of 235 kW and a top speed of 240 km/h. It is equipped with BYD's LFP battery, providing a CLTC range of 835 km. The dual-motor Pro and MAX versions feature front and rear motors with total power outputs of 365 kW and 508 kW, respectively, a top speed of 253 km/h, and a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of just 3.23 seconds. These versions are equipped with CATL's NCM battery, with CLTC ranges of 770 km and 760 km.
Under the hood, the YU7 boasts a high-spec chassis setup, including a double-wishbone front suspension, a five-link rear suspension, closed dual-chamber air springs with continuously variable damping, Brembo four-piston fixed calipers, and Xiaomi's intelligent chassis system. The continuously variable damping can precisely match road conditions, with a 10% wider adjustment range compared to the SU7 Max. The dual-chamber air springs offer five height adjustment levels, with a maximum vertical adjustment range of 75 mm and a maximum ground clearance of 222 mm.
