BYD’s Uzbekistan factory reached a pivotal moment with the visit of President Mirziyoyev, who witnessed the unveiling of the first mass-produced new energy vehicle, the Song PLUS DM-i Champion Edition. The event, attended by dignitaries including Ambassador Yu Jun and BYD’s Chairman and President Wang Chuanfu, signifies a significant step forward in Uzbekistan’s automotive industry.

In addition to the vehicle launch, BYD signed a cooperation agreement with the Uzbekistan government aimed at promoting sustainable transportation solutions. Located in Jizzakh province, the BYD-Uzavtosanoat JSC (UzAuto) joint venture factory plans to produce the Song PLUS DM-i Champion Edition and the Tang 05 Champion Edition plug-in hybrid models in its initial phase. With an annual production capacity estimated at 50,000 units, the factory aims to meet the growing demand in the Central Asian market.
